JSC “Ventbunkers” transhipment volumes increase 29% in November

JSC “Ventbunkers” transhipped 287,000 tons of petroleum products this past November, which is 29% more than in November of 2011. In terms of transhipment volumes, this past November has been one of the best months in the entire 2012 for the company, and the best results were achieved in the transhipment of mazut, JSC “Ventbunkers” Council Chairman Olafs Berķis informs.

Altogether, the company transhipped 2.73 million tons of petroleum products in the first 11 months of this year, including 1.05 million tons of diesel fuel and 1.68 million tons of mazut. While diesel fuel transhipment volumes remained unchanged, mazut transhipment volumes at JSC “Ventbunkers” have increased 70%.

Berķis notes that the management board of “Ventbunkers”, chaired by Dzintars Kašs, continues to work on improving the company’s performance indices. In terms of transhipment volumes, 2012 has been the most successful year for the company over the past few years. The company’s capacity, however, has not yet been fully achieved, therefore “Ventbunkers” performance may further improve next year.

Joint-stock company “Ventbunkers” was established in 1994 and is operating in the territory of the Freeport of Ventspils. The company ensures receiving of oil products by pipelines and by rail. The total transhipment capacity of JSC “Ventbunkers” is 7 million tons per annum.
